I just love quotes, don't you? :)
Heh, I decided to look up some definitions of the word "Waiting" today and here's what i found!
Definitions of "Waiting":
Noun:
a period of waiting; pause, interval, or delay. Inaction.
Adjective:
-serving or being in attendance: waiting man; waiting woman. waiting maid
-To remain or rest in expectation
-being and remaining ready and available for use
Verb:
To work as a waiter or waitress.
Idiom:
in waiting, in attendance, as upon a royal personage. (God! :D)
The definitions in the above fit nicely into what we all already know about the word "Waiting". They say "Waiting" is a period of inaction but after reading what Elizabeth Elliot has to say about "Waiting", Ive taken on a different perspective. Waiting, like Love, is a verb. It is the declaration of your dependence on God. It involves restraint and complete surrender. When you wait, you don't rush ahead of God and make things happen. All you do is watch and pray, trust and obey. Most importantly, Ive come to learn that waiting entails you and God only. You wait on Him and never, for the person.
